Hosea 12; James 4 - AIT - "Let Go and Let God"

"Let go and let God" — most of us hand Him the wheel and keep one hand hovering beside it. We pray, then manipulate. We surrender, then rehearse every worst-case scenario. Hosea reaches back to the man born grabbing his brother's heel — a lifelong grasper who only ever prevailed when he stopped seizing and started weeping. And James won't let letting-go become doing-nothing. Surrender isn't collapse. It's alignment. Open your hands, then go do the next good thing you already know to do.

Passages: Hosea 12; James 4

About the Podcast

Be Still and Know
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Scripture, taught slowly and without rush. Be Still offers full expository sermons that walk carefully through the text, plus shorter midweek episodes to steady your week. Named for the verse my grandmother held close all her life — and offered now as a place to stop, listen, and remember who God is.
In a loud and hurried world, come and be still.

I'm Jeff — the heart behind Be Still and Know. This show started from a simple desire: to slow down and actually sit with God's Word, without the rush. It's named for Psalm 46:10, my grandmother's favorite verse — "Be still, and know that I am God." Every episode, I try to walk through Scripture honestly and carefully, paired with original songs, as a place for you to pause in the middle of a noisy week and be reminded of who God is. I'm glad you're here.
